Workshop Overview:
A month long online workshop, where you’ll learn to craft your own watercolor palette with the shades of indigo, red, pink, green, yellow, and orange from flowers, barks, roots and leaves of the plant.

How It Works:
‣ We will have four live sessions on Saturday afternoons at 2 PM starting from July 13th. Each live session will focus on different aspects of making inks, pigments, and watercolors from plants.
• Live Session 1 – July 13th, 2 PM to 4:30 PM
• Live Session 2 – July 20th, 2 PM to 4:30 PM
• Live Session 3 – July 27th, 2 PM to 4 PM
• Live Session 4 – Aug 10th, 2 PM to 4:30 PM
‣ During the week, you'll be working from home to make the pigments and paints using the materials provided in your kit. You will be part of a Whatsapp support group where you can share your experiments, ask questions, and get feedback from the instructor and fellow participants.
‣ At the end of workshop, you will have your own watercolor palette with shades of indigo, red, pink, green, yellow, and orange, ready for your artistic projects.

Materials Provided in the Kit:
‣ Dried plants: butterfly pea, madder root, sappan wood, palash, marigold
‣ Gum arabic crystals
‣ Alum
‣ Chalk powder
‣ Washing soda
‣ Watercolor Paper
‣ Palette
‣ Filter paper
‣ Indigo pigment
Materials to Arrange:
‣ Heat source (stove or induction)
‣ Clean source of water
‣ pH paper (optional)
‣ Weighing machine
‣ Timer
‣ Stainless steel pans
‣ Cups and spoons
‣ Juice or tea strainer
‣ Thick cotton cloth or muslin cloth
‣ Scissors, knife
‣ Mortar and pestle
‣ Painting brush
‣ Honey/glycerin
‣ Muller (It can be a potato masher or tumbler with flat base)
‣ Flat piece of glass or tiles or marble chakla
‣ Storage containers for paints and inks
‣Rags and newspapers for cleaning
